Colleen holds her CPT certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, her Pilates Mat certification through Retrofit Pilates and her Nutrition Certification through NESTA. She is currently working towards her PMA certification. She has been a student of Pilates for over 10 years and is one of the original founders of Poleates in Westlake Village where she taught Pilates classes for two years.

Ever start out on one of those long treks just to get some fresh air and exercise and then wonder how far you actually went? Well Google has a great tool where you can map out your path and not only find out how may miles you went, but approximately how many calories you burned. Google Pedometer is great online tool that tracks, miles walked, ran or cycled. Try it out for yourself!

The Truth of the Matter: Crunching builds and tones some of the ab muscles, which can help you to burn fat quicker, however, crunches alone are not going to remove that layer of fat fondly known as a ‘spare tire’.
